A Walk in the Woods

"My father considered a walk among the mountains the equivalent of churchgoing."
Aldous Huxley (1894-1863): English writer and novelist

On this quite trail in the Smoky Mountain National Park, I dropped behind my brother and sister-in-law and snapped this shot of a quiet "Walk in the Woods." One cannot help but feel a little small when walking a quiet mountain trail through a forest of giants.

Those are giant trees - I imagine they have a lot to say. I've always wanted to visit the Smoky Mountains.

Well if you get the opportunity to go, by all means go. It is a wonderful place but can be very crowded at times. Most always on the weekends it gets pretty busy, but during the week one can find plenty of places where the crowds are less and the beauty is all around you. We see black bear on most every trip we make and now that they have brought the Elk back, we have seen several on the last few trips we have made.
