There is just not much that is more innocent than a
new born fawn. I caught this one on the side of the
road in Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains.
They are very curious critters and are always alert
with eyes, ears and nose. When not alarmed, their
curiosity of things around them is really amazing
to watch.
"Curiosity is lying in wait for every secret."

So close and so clear and in such a beautiful place.
Your Indian pipe photos are great. I saw a plant with just a few stems last summer. It was the first time other than in books. The expression of these flowers fits the name of corpse plant. To me, it looks like they are standing patiently and watchfully over a body. The draped ghosts have come to collect the body.

Thanks Nellie for stopping by and for joining my site. This was my first for the Pipe Vine. We were hiking on the north side of Mt. LeConte and in a protected cove they were just everywhere. I agree they do fit their name in appearance. Have a great day!
how lucky you are to see that bambi!
so cute, so beautiful !
I love your images
Thank you so much Marty. I really appreciate your comments. I grew up on a farm and my brother and I as young boys had the opportunity to raise a fawn. They can be very friendly critters and there is no end to their curiosity. Love your site! You have given me much inspiration through your photographs.
What an amazing experience! I would love to get this close to capture this creature on camera. They wander through my backyard regularly but I never have my camera in hand at the right time.
