Land of Blue Smoke!


"The mountains are calling and I must go."
     John Muir(1838-1914): Scottish born-American naturalist and author. 

To the native Cherokee Indians, these mountains were called Sha-kon-o-hey! Land of blue smoke.

I can understand how Mr. Muir felt - I felt that way when I lived near Calgary and the Rockies for 15 years, and I would often answer the call.

I long to spend some time in the Rockies but time and distance make it a rare treat. And there sure is plenty to see all around us where ever we hang our hat, we just have to open our eyes and look. Hope you have a great day!
